Purpose: The CAAL-CBPA Research Grant is intended to encourage research in the region by staff and librarians at member libraries.


This Grant is intended to help achieve the following objectives:
  • Encourage and support new or established librarians and staff working in academic libraries who are undertaking, or propose to undertake, research with the intent to share results through publication and/or conference presentations;
  • Promote research that is relevant to the goals and objectives of CAAL-CBPA and its member libraries; and
  • Promote research that is evidence-based.

Indigenous Information Professional Grant

Purpose: CAAL-CBPA is strongly committed to fostering diversity within our community through furthering the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action as well as increasing the diverse knowledge represented within our member institutions. We welcome applicants who will contribute to expanding the voices represented in our field and its scholarship. CAAL-CBPA supports diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our community.

This Grant is intended to help achieve the following objectives:

  • Support self-identifying Indigenous Peoples in, or from, the Atlantic Region pursuing information management careers, either directly, or in partnership with other organizations and/or institutions.
  • Assist self-identifying Indigenous Peoples working in information management careers at CAAL-CBPA member libraries, either directly, or in partnership with other organizations and/or institutions.

Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour (BIPOC) Information Professional Grant

Purpose: CAAL-CBPA is strongly committed to actively fostering diversity within our community and helping to reduce systemic barriers.  We welcome applicants who will contribute to expanding the voices represented in our field and its scholarship.  CAAL-CBPA supports diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the information professional community.

This Grant is intended to help achieve the following objectives:
  • Support self-identifying Black, Indigenous Peoples, and Persons of Colour in, or from, the Atlantic Region pursuing information management careers, either directly, or in partnership with other organizations and/or institutions.
  • Assist self-identifying Black, Indigenous Peoples, and Persons of Colour working in information management careers at CAAL-CBPA member libraries, either directly, or in partnership with other organizations and/or institutions.
