Purpose

The role of the Scholarly Communications Committee is to foster sharing of knowledge within the Atlantic region and beyond, to optimize resources and expertise in the area of scholarly communications.

Scholarly communications work at research libraries has seen tremendous growth, be it through promotion of open access as a method of publication, supporting funders requirements, managing repositories, or providing assistance with metrics, systematic reviews, open educational resources, research data, and digital preservation. The Scholarly Communications Committee (SCC) is a representation of the importance of that work within CAAL-CBPA, and provides those tasked with that work a place to share and collaborate in order to further these goals regionally.
