Mission

CAAL-CBPA is a vibrant regional network of Atlantic Canada’s public university and college libraries leveraging community and collaboration to advance scholarship, innovation, diversity, and accessibility in teaching, learning, research, and student experiences.

Vision

CAAL-CBPA is a rich and diverse learning and research ecosystem of libraries that employs deeply collaborative solutions to inspire learning, and spark creativity and innovation.

Land Acknowledgement

CAAL members sit on unceded and traditional territories of the Mi’kmaq, Beothuk, Innu, Inuit, Wəlastəkwiyik, and Peskotomuhkati Peoples. "Treaties of Peace and Friendship" were first signed in 1725 between the British Crown and the Mi'kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik Peoples. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources, but recognized Mi'kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik title, and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We acknowledge with respect the diverse histories and cultures of the First Peoples of this region, and we express our gratitude as guests on this land.
