Canadian Academic Libraries Resource Sharing Agreement
CAAL-CBPA participates in the Canadian Academic Libraries Resource Sharing Agreement, which:
- Provides in-library reciprocal borrowing privileges to CAAL-CBPA students, faculty and staff at universities and colleges across the country. To participate in the program, you need a valid institutional ID or other designate per the policies of the home institution; and
- Enables user communities at member institutions to freely borrow books, articles, and videos nation-wide through document delivery and Interlibrary Loans (ILL) services at their home library.
Retired faculty and staff may be included in this agreement according to the policies of the home library. If the home library normally provides library cards to its retired faculty and staff, they too may participate in this program.
Borrowing privileges and identification requirements are determined by the lending library and the regional consortia.
Review the Agreement page for a list of contacts at CAAL-CBPA Member libraries.
Consortia Canada
Consortia Canada (ConCan) is an informal group of library consortia representing all library types - public, post-secondary, health, special, and K-12 schools - working together to license electronic resources that are useful and relevant to members across the country. Through this partnership, our members realize even larger cost savings for the e-resources they license through CAAL-CBPA. Consortia Canada's primary goal is to contribute to the collection and organization of information and knowledge in digital form for the benefit of all Canadians.
