Purpose
In 2025, CAAL-CPBA launched a collaborative stewardship program for member libraries’ physical collections focused on important low-use print and microforms. Operating under a distributed repository model, participating libraries agree to retain designated materials for a defined period, ensuring their preservation and ongoing availability within the Atlantic Provinces.
By coordinating with North/Nord: The Canadian Shared Print Network and engaging with other regional and consortial shared print initiatives across Canada, this program strengthens both the preservation of and sustained access to the scholarly record held in Canadian libraries.
This is a working group of the CAAL-CBPA Collections Committee.
