{"id":38,"date":"2025-04-25T13:02:32","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/caal-cbpa.ca\/about\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T16:31:47","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T16:31:47","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/caal-cbpa.ca\/fr\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c0 Propos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<h2>Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CAAL-CBPA is a vibrant regional network of Atlantic Canada\u2019s public university and college libraries leveraging community and collaboration to advance scholarship, innovation, diversity, and accessibility in teaching, learning, research, and student experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CAAL-CBPA is a rich and diverse learning and research ecosystem of libraries that employs deeply collaborative solutions to inspire learning, and spark creativity and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 [object NamedNodeMap]>Land Acknowledgement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CAAL members sit on unceded and traditional territories of the Mi\u2019kmaq, Beothuk, Innu, Inuit, W\u0259last\u0259kwiyik, and Peskotomuhkati Peoples. &#8220;Treaties of Peace and Friendship&#8221; were first signed in 1725 between the British Crown and the Mi&#8217;kmaq and W\u0259last\u0259kwiyik Peoples. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources, but recognized Mi&#8217;kmaq and W\u0259last\u0259kwiyik title, and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
